APPLICATIONS
Biochemistry Ergosterol biosynthesis inhibitor. Inhibits the growth of germ tubes and hyphae. Mode of action Curative fungicide with residual activity. Inhibits all stages in the life cycle of Botrytis cinerea, except for spore germination. Uses Control of plant pathogens such as Venturia spp., Alternaria spp., Botrytis spp., Sclerotinia spp. and Monilinia spp. Formulation types WP. Selected products: 'Alshine' (Otsuka, SDS Biotech KK)

Oral Acute oral LD50 for male rats 1424, female rats 1035, male mice 1073, female mice 702 mg/kg. Skin and eye Acute percutaneous LD50 for male and female rats >2000 mg/kg. Slightly irritating to eyes; non-irritating to skin (rabbits). Not a skin sensitiser (guinea pigs). Inhalation LC50 for male and female rats >4398 mg/m3.
ECOTOXICOLOGY
Birds Acute oral LD50 for male bobwhite quail 1125.6, female bobwhite quail 1791.3 mg/kg. Fish LC50 (96 h) for carp 7.2 mg/l; LC50 (48 h) for rainbow trout 15.8 mg/l (WP). Algae EbC50 for Selenastrum 0.81 mg/l.
